Sanding brush technique
Creating smooth surfaces and breaking edges of untreated wood
Sanders and brushes for sanding wood
Several different sanding techniques are used in the wood and furniture industries. The purpose of sanding is to create a smooth surface. Cosma sanding brushes use abrasive cloth, supported by natural fibres, to create an exquisitely smooth surface. The brushes are available in a range of grit sizes up to a maximum of 220.
White wood sanding is used to prepare surfaces for the application of the first layer of lacquer. Any raised fibres on the white wood are sanded off.
Breaking edges with Cosma brushes
Cosma sanding brushes are also suitable for breaking sharp edges and rounding off the edges of white wood that has been processed by a wide belt sander. The sanding brushes smooth the surface, preparing it for the application of a protective layer of lacquer.
