Surface technology for woodworking

Distressing, also referred to as aging or brushing, is a production process that gives the surface depth and texture. Traditionally, steel wire brushes with a wire thickness of 0.20 and 0.38 mm are used for this (wire brushing). However, these brushes do not differentiate between hard and soft grain in the wood.

If you would prefer to use the latest technology, we recommend nylon abrasive 46 grit brushes. These brushes give a much more attractive appearance, carefully removing only the soft grain to create the desired rustic “old “ surface.
